Pristine, tight limited edition (unspecified) of this political thriller first published in 1959, winner of the 1960 Pulitzer Prize. This unusual copy bears three fine signature additions from the popular 1962 film version: Tipped to the inner flyleaf are a 5" X 2½" slip and two matching heavy stock 5" X 3" cards -- At top is LEW AYRES (1908-96; portrays Vice President Harley Hudson), who signs a 5" X 2½" slip hugely in blue marker; below him is DON MURRAY (1929-2024; portrays Senator Brigham "Brig" Anderson of Utah), who signs boldly in black ballpoint, adding "Peace and joy" above; below him is INGA SWENSON (1932-2023; portrays Ellen Anderson), who signs in blue ballpoint and dates it 20 December 1972 at upper right. Laid in are the perfect bookmarks: Murray and Swenson's original transmittal envelopes. .
